The Small Animal Educational Center is a new 10,000 SF facility located at the William H. Darr College of Agriculture in southwest Springfield. A secured vivarium is located in the new facility that will shelter dogs and cats in order to expand Missouri State’s Animal Science Major and the Companion Animal Minor programs. Students that go through the programs will learn about how to care for the health and well-being of the animals. The facility is a Pre-Engineered metal building with two main lobbies set near each end of the building to provide study and collaboration spaces. Other amenities include a teaching laboratory, a group activity and training lab, a student work & treatment area as well as indoor and outdoor dog runs.
